How
does the next government introduce "remote medical care" in the field
of health care policy?
As
the 20th presidential election scheduled for March 9, 2022 approaches,
attention is being paid to whether to introduce "remote medical care"
in the field of health care policy.
Telemedicine
has been reviewed whenever a new government is established, but only pros and
cons are strongly opposed due to its special nature of dealing with the lives
and health of the people, but it has not yet been used in actual treatment
sites.
Candidate
Yoon Seok-yeol said he would actively consider telemedicine as the basis for
the introduction of an innovative medical system based on advanced technology
at the "Start-up Policy Talk" site where he met with entrepreneurs.
Candidate
Yoon Seok-yeol said, "Remote non-face-to-face treatment is an inevitable
reality, and if we lead the next government, we will try to ensure that all
citizens can enjoy high-tech benefits."
According
to the data released by the Korea Credit Information Service in October,
telemedicine was pointed out as a promising item along with healthcare wearable
devices, bio-medical big data, clinical decision-making support systems, and
digital treatments.
"As
demand for non-face-to-face is increasing due to the influence of COVID-19, the
need to use related items such as telemedicine systems and digital treatments
is increasing," said Eojinwon, a senior investigation officer at the Korea
Credit Information Service.
It
is expected that new convergence industries that combine digital technology and
medical care will be able to create new medical services such as preventive
follow-up management and customized medical services.
