The present day of Korean robot technology, 2021 Daegu International Machinery Industry Competition.
From
November 16 (Tue) to November 19 (Fri), the 2021 Daegu International Machinery
Industry Exhibition was held at the new EXCO building in Daegu, which was newly
opened. The Daegu International Machinery Industry Exhibition is an industrial
exhibition that encompasses the Daegu International Automation Equipment
Exhibition (DAMEX) and the Daegu International Robotics Exhibition (ROBEX)
International Parts and Materials Exhibition (PARTS SHOW).
In particular, prominent local robot companies
such as Samik THK, Stovey Korea, Yasukawa Electric, and Hyundai Robotics
participate every year, drawing keen attention from the robot industry. This
year's exhibition was also attended by various local robot companies to
showcase their products and technology.
TX2 Touch, a cooperative robot introduced at
the exhibition, is known to be the robot with the highest safety level among
cooperative robots in the world. While prioritizing the safety of workers, it
boasts faster and more accurate performances than general cooperative robots.
At this exhibition, Hyundai Robotics organized
booths centered on previously strong industrial robots such as electric and
electronic robot automation demonstrations using small high-speed handling
robots, logistics robots, and deburring robot systems introduced with its
partner Youngchang Robotech, while touring stores.
Kang Cheol-ho, CEO of Hyundai Robotics, said,
"We are already expanding our facilities to produce more than 10,000
service robots a year, and we plan to start production in earnest in
2022."
Jung Jae-soo, senior manager of Hyundai
Robotics, said, "We will take the lead in popularizing domestic service
robots starting with full-fledged production in 2022 while promoting the
competitiveness of domestic service robots in the global market."
