The 6th International Steel and Non-ferrous Metal Industry Exhibition (SMK 2021) held at the EXCO Donggwan in Daegu for three days from October 6th (Wed) to 9th (Fri) applied the government's quarantine guidelines and a thorough quarantine system.

This year's exhibition was hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and Pohang City, the Korea Steel Association, and the Non-ferrous Metal Association, while the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy was in charge of sponsoring EXCO, The Fair's, S&M Media, and KOTRA. Under the slogan "Re-Leap into the Future Basic Materials Industry," 100 companies (500 booths) participated under the concept of eco-friendly, safety, smart, high-function, and antibacterial bio in Gyeongbuk and Daegu.

The pass method for this SMK 2021 exhibition was that the resident of the exhibition had to complete either a vaccine or a PCR test (within three days), and all visitors were required to complete the questionnaire to enter.

In order to enter the exhibition hall, I had to pass a triple inspection. After passing through the thermal imaging camera placed at the entrance of the exhibition, after passing through the barcode recognition system, it was only possible to enter through a full-body sterilizer. If a high fever of 37.5 degrees or higher was detected, the third measurement was conducted with a non-contact thermometer and the position was determined.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, all foods except water and meals were completely prohibited in the exhibition hall. In addition, the barcode system was applied to both the entrance and exit to thoroughly identify the movement of visitors and prepare for the situation.

Meanwhile, SMK 2021, under the slogan of "re-leap into the future basic material industry," was carried out with the aim of creating new demand for steel metals in line with the era of the fourth industrial revolution.
