Gwangju Medical Health Industry Exhibition Leads On and Off Medical Tourism to Revitalize
Gwangju City
said on the 13th, "We are gathering administrative power to secure
competitiveness in medical tourism through various programs and events to
strengthen the foundation for medical tourism even in COVID-19."
The city recently formed a joint public
relations center for medical tourism, including Gwangju Medical Tourism Support
Center, Chonnam National University Hospital, Beauty Clear Dermatology Clinic,
and Jeonnam Tourism Foundation, to promote Gwangju specialized medical
technology and medical tourism products.
Considering that foreign patients are unable
to enter the country due to COVID-19, the city also introduced friendly
programs to secure potential customers, such as holding a "Gwangju-um
Medical Tour" where about 30 foreigners living in Korea experience medical
experiences at Chonnam National University Dental Hospital, Chosun University
Dental Hospital, Beauty Clear Dermatology, and Spa Sobe.
Choi Bum-chae, director of CL Hospital in
Gwangju, participated in "Doctor's Talk" hosted by doctors in
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and introduced "Therapy for Overcoming
Infertility" to local medical staff in Mongolia on video.
In connection with the MediHealth Industry
Exhibition, the city simultaneously hosts the Mediwell Gwangju Online Expo to
introduce Gwangju medical institutions and specialized medical technologies,
while using it as an opportunity for Gwangju medical industry companies to
introduce companies online and promote products and technologies.
In addition, the city, along with the Korea
Institute of Health and Welfare Human Resources Development, gave an invitation
lecture on training new human resources as international medical coordinator
and Kim Seung-ho, head of the Daegu Medical Tourism Promotion Agency, on
Daegu's medical tourism success strategy.
